Married to Roger Jackson (LHS '55) for 49 years.
Children: Rose Hedin is married to Terry Hedin & lives in Seattle, WA. They both work for Boeing. Rose has two step-sons, Travis & Randy Hedin.
Grace Courtney is married to Mike Courtney & they live in San Diego, CA. They have three children, Nathan, Andrew & Ashley. So we have five grandchildren. (No great grands yet!)
WORK: My first one after HS graduation was in the office of the Tiny's Electric Co. here in Lincoln. I worked there over 2 years & then Rog & I moved to Longview, TX where he attended the LeTourneau Technical Institute (now LeTourneau University). We were there for 2 years & I worked in the office of the Ben E. Keith Co. (a wholesale fresh & frozen fruit & vegetable business). After leaving there I was not employed outside of the home anymore, so have been privileged to be a stay at home Mom, & wife all these years. Am I retired???? You don't retire from the job of homemaker! I have been involved in a variety of things in the church through the years, such as Children's Church leader, Bible Studies (student & teacher), and Women's Ministry Leadership Team.
CHANGES: Have I changed since HS days? I should hope so!! From a self-centered, what's in it for me person, to one with an entirely different outlook on life.
INTERESTS: I have had 4 trips to Israel & that area. Our oldest daughter, Rose, was born in Bethlehem (which is now in Israel). I can't express how thankful I am for the new life in Jesus that I have experienced. Jesus is my Savior, and a friend who is always with me. He is the only one that can go through everything with you, & supply your need for the moment, whether it be release from a certain situation, or the grace to go through it. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." If we truly delight in Him, He gives us the desires He wants us to have and then He fulfills them. What more could you ask! In March, 2005, I came very close to being promoted to heaven because of complications from a rare case of pneumonia, but because of many people praying, I am still here to finish the work the Lord has for me to do.
