Barbara J (Wendling) Schoeneman
Married to Jerry for 48 years this August.
Children: Todd, 44, resides in Renton, Washington, Sharyl, 41, resides in Lake Stevens, Washington, Greg, 38 , resides in Tucson, Arizona, Chere, 32 , resides in Phoenix, Arizona, Andrea, 29 , resides in Phoenix, Arizona. Presently we have five grandchildren but we have three grand-children expected to join our family this year. One in May, one in July and one in October.
WORK: First job, Secretary for Nebraska State Testing Laboratory. Statistical Typist for the Gas Company (in Lincoln). Secretary for Kays Jewelry Store in San Francisco, Ca. In regard to church, like most people, I was involved in teaching Sunday School, Acolyte Coordinator, Wedding Assistant, prepared meals for shut-in's and Greeter. Retired early from work outside the home to be a stay at home mom and raise our family.
INTERESTS: My lifelong passion is the focus on family. I like to think that I'm the glue that held us together as we made four cross country moves. Presently, I'm the primary care person for two grand daughters while their parents work.
My new obsession is compiling recipes for a family cookbook that I'm making.
Significant Events: One of my big challenges was parenting a German Exchange Student, who was 16 years old at the time. That was an eye opener. Martin lived with us six months, when all five of our children were
living at home. Many life lessons were learned at this time.
CHANGES: Since high school, life experiences have helped me become my best self. The changes are many.
MISSES: About the 50s, I find that I miss people who were in my life then but everything else is just a part of the past.
MUSINGS: A couple of my philosophies: You don't have to "toot your own horn", every action speaks for itself and in time, is heard about. To quote an English teacher, "the emptiest vessel makes the loudest noise."
