Children: Yes, I raised my nephew and niece. Cory, 23, Lincoln, Nebraska; Jennifer, 22, Lincoln, Nebraska.
WORK: First job, Gold's Department Store in the accounting department. Through the years: Worked for one insurance company for 20 years and the present one for 27 years. Serve as an officer of the company, and a board member. Continue to work for a small company dealing with banks around the State of Nebraska. Not sure about retirement. I love my job and if my health holds up I will continue to work. I love the people I work with and the ownership of the company.
Hobbies/Interests: Travel anywhere and bridge. I take about four major trips each year and play in three bridge groups.
Significant Event: Making the decision to raise two young children on my own and still maintain a demanding job in the workforce-a decision that changed my life for the better. They are everything to me.
World Event: The assassination of J. F. Kennedy. I will never forget that day. It was devastating that this could happen in the U.S. The bombing in Oklahoma and 9/11 revealed how vulnerable we are in this country.
CHANGES:The usual changes, confidence, ability to take on hard challenges.
