Lifelong Passion: early childhood education
New Obsession: organic farming on 250 acre farm on Colorado-Utah border
Significant Events: I feel I have been victorious in meeting the challenges of life that didn't unfold exactly according to my script.
Significant World Events: Assassination of John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King forced me to let go of some of my starry-eyed idealism.
CHANGES: I certainly hope I have changed since high school! I would hate to think I still had a sixteen year old mentality though I must say I am still somewhat idealistic and an incurable romantic. I hope I have grown in humility and compassion and the ability to laugh at myself and not take life so seriously.
MISSES: 50's - simplicity - security - slower pace - well defined roles...or was it all an illusion?!
REFLECTIONS: I try to live by the Serenity Prayer and the following quotes:
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift; that's why they call it the present." (Eleanor Roosevelt) "The most wasted day of all is that on which we have not laughed." (Chamfort) "We cannot do great things - only small things with great love." (Mother Teresa)
"All things work together for good to them that love God..." (Romans 8:28)
