Carol (McDonald) Brown
Carol Elaine (McDonald) Brown
Single
Children: Lori Buechel, 45, Lincoln, NE; David Brown, 44, Lincoln, NE. No Grandchildren but I have Great Nieces and Nephews that I spend a lot of time with.
WORK:
Lincoln Clinic, Physical Therapy Assistant and Receptionist for 5 years; Sears Department Store, 3 years; Department of Social Services receptionist for 30 years. When my children were younger I helped with their Girl and Boy Scout Troops, taught Sunday School, volunteered at Lancaster Manor, and I worked on the Election Board for 7 years. I love being retired and sleeping in when I want to.
INTERESTS: I collect tea pots, music boxes and dolls. Walking, gardening (flowers), getting together with my friends for lunch, baking cookies for my wonderful neighbors, Nebraska football games.
CHANGES: My hair is turning gray and I've slowed down, don't feel like I have to get everything done in one day. The things I miss most about the 50's are my 3 years at LHS, the outdoor drive-in theaters, all the department and dime stores that were downtown on both sides of the streets, and the cheap prices. It was a safer, happier time. We didn't have to contend with the drug problems and all the violence going on today. I miss the music, Elvis Presley, The Carpenters, etc.
