Sandra (Lichtenberg) Robinson
Sandra Sue (Lichtenberg) Robinson
Married to Calvin E. Robinson.
Graduate of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln Teachers College and College of Law
Children: Edward L. (Ted) Robinson, 36, New Berlin, Wisconsin. Wife is Christine, Son is Ethan age 5. Amy L. Robinson, 36, Jersey City, New Jersey. A "Jersey Girl" who works in New York City at WordSmart 50 Years Ago ... Graduated from high school like some 500 others who did on June 8, 1956 ... Went to the University of Nebraska - Lincoln and graduated with a degree majoring in Political Science ... Have yet to put that degree to good use ... Got a job or two ... Worked at both the society desk and city desk of the Lincoln Star newspaper ... Then went to then Bankers Life Nebraska where I edited the in-house magazines among other responsibilities in advertising and sales promotion department.
WORK: Say at home Mom , found the volunteer world, and the volunteer
world found me ... I volunteered ... And volunteered ... And volunteered some more.
Now in retrospect I realize that many of those good Traits and skills that I developed at Lincoln High School 50 years have stayed with me ... And I continue to use them today. As business manager for The Links I learned how to approach business owners and sell ads. And today business owners run for cover when they see me coming. Because I am "asking for money" for yet another fundraiser. Used those skills for many volunteer jobs ...Everything from laying the groundwork for a community foundation ... Start a child abuse hotline ... Forgotten more than I remember and along the way I have met and worked with many, many marvelous individuals ... Many who have become good, good friends.
INTERESTS: Discovered I love to knit but prefer needlepoint. Still have to read the newspaper every day ... An old habit that is hard to give up ...Bob Schrepf will agree with me. Will have to have a large type newspaper? One of these days.
CHANGES: Downsized to an apartment four years ago ... No need for "a honey to do list"... Like it that way.
REFLECTIONS: In 1956, if you wanted to read my writing, I would have typed it. Always had a typewriter ... First the manual, then an electric. If I want you to read my writing today, I still type. The keyboard has changed very little from my days of a Royal and IBM ... Now it is Dell and Hewlett-Packard. Who can imagine what the keyboard in 2056 will be like for the Class of 2006? I will not be here to type on it, but won't Ted and Christy and Ethan and Amy have fun.
