Through the years: Student at Creighton University in Omaha - business ad (accounting and law; 2 years in Army at Baltimore, Maryland - ROTC and 1st Lt. & Captain; practiced law in Omaha from 1965 to present.
No plans to retire as long as I can work satisfactorily (some may question that now).
INTERESTS: Tennis, community and church involvement, pro-life and social justice work, competing in and watching sports. Love tennis and played at Creighton University and still play tennis and basketball.
Significant Events: Marriage, blessings received of kids, education, work, losses of 2 children.
Significant World Events: Vatican II change in the Catholic Church changed my outlook to help all people. Roe vs. Wade decision to permit abortion caused me to devote a lot of my law and community service to combat abortion, which I felt allowed killing unborn children as a solution for social problems.
Life Changes: More outgoing, look much older, more spiritual; miss some of the care-free days of the 50's.
REFLECTIONS: Life is a journey and a gift and this life, while important, is a short time in which to grow in love and service of God and others. This is the lasting value.
COMMENTS:
On my application for law work, I had the perfect resume:
1. My dad wanted me to do something concrete (so I worked on building roads).
2. I got a job delivering beer for Storz Brewery in Omaha during law school, so I handled a lot of cases.
3. I played tennis in college, so many "court appearances".
4. Worked at Brandeis men's clothing and handled a lot of "suits" and worked with "briefs"
Sounded good on paper.
