Married for 48 years to Ronald Richards.
Two Children: Pam Richards Sacks,?46, Cincinnati, OH, married to Sumner (Sonny) Sacks;
Doug Richards, 44, San Diego, CA, married to Kelly. Four grandchildren: Karly Sacks, 15; Kevin Sacks, 13; Ryan Richards, 12; Regan Richards, 10.
WORK: My husband and I owned an office equipment and supply business for over 20 years. After the sale of the business, I worked as an Accounts Payable Manager until retirement in 2001.
I currently volunteer at a retirement community and volunteer as the manager of the gift shop at my synagogue. I was also chairman of the Interior Design committee for our new building.
Significant Events: Attendance at Indiana University where I met my husband, Ron.
Marriage and the birth of my two children while living as an officer's wife at Fort Benning, Georgia. Owning our own business and the sale of the business over 20 years later. The marriages of my children and the birth of my four grandchildren. Travel to Europe and Israel.
The establishment of the Ronald and Sandra Richards Distinguished Leadership Award at our synagogue. It is awarded on a yearly basis.
World Events: My husband's tour of duty as an officer in the Army was extended due to the building of the Berlin Wall, thus ensuring that both of our children were born while in the Army.
MISSES: I miss the safety, security and innocence of the 50's.
REFLECTIONS: In 1956 I could not have imagined the kind of world in which we would be living in 2006.
